The competition between Twhirl, Seesmic and TweetDeck just got tougher. The latest release of TweetDeck brings you an integration with Facebook and MySpace that is at this point almost too good to be true. You can finally “like” and reply directly within TweetDeck to feed in your Facebook news feed! And this, ladies and gents, is a huge step for desktop Twitter/social networks clients!

Twitter rumour: Opel/Vauxhall to merge with SAAB?

Last night I read somewhere that Opel and SAAB were discussing a merge to escape the ongoing company crisis. I tweeted about it and a couple of persons picked it up asking me where I got the news from. And to be honest, I have no idea. I read it, but I can’t remember where. Or I heard it. There is no discussion about it as far as I know, though.

But after a good thinking, it sounded like an idea to keep in mind. Opel is obviously doing better than SAAB, but they are aboth being thrown out of General Motors to be left alone out in the cold. Germany and Sweden already have good trading deals and connections. The issue with a merge would be to keep both brands.

Interesting thought.

Catching up on Twitter

A couple of weeks ago I told myself to start using Twitter more. How would I otherwise be able to call myself a social media wannabe geek if I wouldn’t use Twitter constantly? So I started to reply on random tweets of the 61 people I am following, not hoping to get any response at all. But I was in for a surprize. I suddenly got loads of responses! Well, loads might be an exaggeration, it was more likely five… But it is a good start, no?

Ever time I get a reply, I get that weird feeling in my belly, kinda fizzy and bubbely feeling, like the day Chris Brogan actually started to follow me on FriendFeed before I followed him. Now, that was a huge moment in my pathetic social media life. Now I am hoping for Robert Scoble to reply to me and I will be flying around in social media heaven!
